This used to be one of the best celebrations in Denver. Probably still is.

Yep, there's lots of activities in Galveston, too. Parades, festival, and such...

(In Brazil they celebrate "June Parties" with hot wine and such, since it's Winter there now)

The dates being so close together, I wonder if some of the 'traditions' of the Juneteenth celebrations might not have derived from the Fieste de San Juan celebrations and, thus, ultimately from the Midsummer rites of ancient days?
