Although I never heard the songs themselves, I recall some quoted lyrics which went sort of like this:

"I've got tears in my ears from lyin' on my back cryin' over you"

"Kick me, Jesus, through the goal posts of life"

You didn't specify which country. How about Russia?--

"Throw Mama from the train a kiss, a kiss"

(In an American movie, that title was cut off after the first 5 words, which robbed the line of its humor.)
