Boomer, re: the pants that fit -- the fact she could buy them without you around and get the right fit is freaky. But it is true that some people have a better grasp of what we really look like. I usually buy loose because I've packed on a few pounds. A salesperson in a clothing store recently talked me into buying a size smaller than I normally wear, because as she kindly put it "You're not fooling anyone, rather drawing attention to yourself". She was right. I sure don't look skinny, but I look less like a badly packed bag of groceries. "Kathy" must have a visual gift of some sort.
