I heard to interesting tidbits of news on the way home tonight (Market Place on WBUR). The first item was about a study done which showed that social drinkers made more than their non-drinking counterparts. UPI. The second was about another study which showed that people with brain damage in the emotional part of their brain make better decisions about money. From Market Place itself.

So, go out and drink yourself silly - less than 5 drinks per night, talk to the competition and network. While you're there, try to focus the brain damage on the emotional section of your brain - voila! You will become rich!

Well, crap. I got the brain damage and have a few drinks, but remain poor.

A friend of mine is an alcoholic.
He realized he was, and stopped drinking altogether, one day when he woke up in a different city, with a woman he didn't know or didn't remember and with his credit card over the top.

Right then!

I'll try anything!

(I knew I was doing something wrong before, judging by my bank balance. A sad sight!)

OK, focusing, focusing .......
