i'm a little concerned about those tubular growths the children seem to have sprouting off them

I beg your pardon, but my three-times great grandmother from the Isles was Selkie. Female selkies have less tolerance for the ways of two-leggers than the males do--or perhaps two legged women are easier to get along with than men are.
