A neighbor of mine just came back from 2 months in South Africa. She goes every 5 years or so. She is invovled with a cool forum which discusses all things South Africa National Park (SANPark). Except for politics <frowns at those who might go there with politics in mind>.

She is one of two neighbors who have spent much time in Africa. The other started a non-profit AIDS fund and goes to Africa to make sure his efforts are effective.

I love this neighborhood.

Anyway, the site is HERE for anyone who wants to see what fans think about the National Parks of South Africa.

I'm afraid that the problems of Africa--even the problems of the Union of South Africa are among the worries I let slide because of problems closer to home.

A thread like this makes me confront my own insularity.

hhmmm, as a South African I'd like to say your biggest worry to a park here is malaria, even though I've never heard of anyone dying of it in South Africa.

Thanks to Quincy for bumping this thread. I missed it the first time. It looks like an excellent site littlek, and I've bookmarked it for future reference. Maybe someday I'll win that lottery and be able to travel to Africa.

I was just over at the site, talking to a few members, and just basically cruising around, trying to familiarize myself with the layout, when I made a rather remarkable discovery. One of our very own is a member there!

I speak of Noddy. I saw her on the member list. It has to be her, doesn't it? Or is there another Noddy?

Anyone know if she is a member?

I was going to join the site but I can't decide on a moniker. I like to choose something a little different for each forum I'm on. Which witch do you think is best:

Jungle Witch
Tarzan's Witch (I originally typed Tarzan's Bitch, but though it a little harsh)
Witch Doctor (not PC?)
Safari Witch

I think you will wear Jungle Witch quite well, GW. If I think of a more appropriate moniker I will pass it on.
