We've got the rainy ick going on now but supposed to be uphill from there culminating is 70's later this week -- so ready for more springy weather. It was gorgeous for a short short time and then just when we started to relax into it, boom, weather got sucky again.

Holy crap.

http://www.weather.com/weather/alerts/localalerts/02135?phenomena=TO&significance=A&areaid=MAC025&office=KBOX&etn=0263

Yes, this includes us, most Massachusetts A2Kers, my company....

Never thought we'd be having this conversation but we talked about -- what would we need to grab, fast?

Water
flashlights
medicine
wallets
my glasses
computer flash drives
food
can opener (?)
car/house keys
phone

I think that's it. Eek.

@jespah,
How about a good mystery novel from Walter Mosley, a portable DVD player, a portable AM/FM/weather band radio, some white chocolate chip and macademia cookies from Pepperidge Farms, etc...?

@tsarstepan,
That might involve some shopping, and I imagine my neighbors are already out fighting each other over bread, eggs and milk (why no one thinks: power outage is beyond me). I do have a book I'm reading. Plus my writing stuff although if it all was scattered to the four winds (literally) I could use that as inspiration for starting something new.

Eeg weather affects me enough as it is. Now I'm really feeling off-kilter.

@jespah,
I don't mean to sound dismissive but I'm sure you'll be fine.

Perhaps ... take a seat and then a few deep breathes ....

Jespah, After you grab that stuff - what would you do with it? We've had hurricanes before. Have we had tornadoes? I conceded to filling up a pot of water. I'll bring my flashlight in from the car.

Now, however, I am going for a walk and then to a BBQ.

@littlek,
Well, we've got the cellar. This was really more like, if we were stuck for 48 hours, what would we absolutely need? I, too, logically think we are going to be completely unaffected but the reptilian part of my brain is saying "Run NOW!"

Damn lizard.

We didn't even get a drop of rain between 4pm and 10pm. We have a new tornado warning for this evening......

@littlek,
warning, or watch?

when we get a warning I am effectively deaf till it's over.

I can throw a rock at the siren.

@Rockhead,
Watch. We had rain here yesterday, and today it poured for a little while, it was just sheeting against the window.

Pouring again now, 40 mph winds. Earlier it was gusting to 68 mph.

Oops! Watch. The sirens were just regular old firetruck sirens. They always seem to follow high winds - downed limbs I suppose.
