Question I read a sentance on a megazine,that is :Most economists think it's unlikely the CNN effect will be strong enough to tip the U.S.economy back into a recession.But I don't know what does "CNN effect "mean ,can you help me???

it essentially means that widespread media coverage of economic data will not be enough to sway public opinion (consumer confidence) into wariness. it means that things arent bad enough to convice people to stop spending money.

Expanding on Instigates reply, CNN is a 24 hour TV news network and is here used as a metaphor for all Media.
