Tonight: a big pot (No, a huge vat!) of Fassoulatha - a Greek (black-eyed) bean & other goodies soup. One of those soups that simmers gently on the stove-top for ages. Yum, delicious & so easy to prepare!

I had some with the soup, alex. <burp!>

So, what was your last culinary creation? (You seem to eat very well!)

Why I thought you would never ask....Two creations.
One was an experiment. Flattened out chicken breast with Boursin cheese spread onto it. Prosciutto on top of that. Rolled up and baked.
Number two. Jalepeno peppers sliced in half, stuffed with goat, cream, and cheddar cheeses. Grilled.
......pizza tonight.

You certainly know how to eat (& cook!), Alex!

Question: Boursin cheese? Tell me more. I've never come across this variety.

Big Labor Day race tomorrow so I made a pasta dinner for carbo-loading. Pasta sauce made with fresh tomatoes and basil from my garden, a green salad and home-baked french bread. For dessert, homemade strawberry sorbet. <burp>

Race of/for what, Swimpy??

I had a cookup at the weekend - 4 curries - 1 beef, 1 chicken, 2 different veggies, spiced yellow rice with peas, cucumber raita, and then marinated strawberries.

Slight miscalculation with the rice - I have sufficient left over to feed the nation for a week, and almost no accompaniments. Guests went through the food like a horde of locusts.

I still have a whole pumpkin - perhaps punkin curry is the way to go.

The local running club holds a 5K and half-marathon every year on Labor Day. My son was going to run the 1/2 marathon but came up lame this week. His two friends ran the 5K. One of them has a good chance to win.

Were you running, Swimpy - or just your (now lame) son?

No - only 6 others - but they are ate as if they were starving - except for the bloody rice - which I'm working through. It was pretty good, too!

Definitely meat eaters here: Tuscan herbed pork roast, rotisseried with a paste of garlic, rosemary, lemon zest, salt and pepper, basted with red wine; yellow wax beans, fresh from the garden; new potatoes, also from the garden, served with a little dab of butter.

The roast was delicious. Best of all, there's leftovers for tomorrow!
