I wrote this before I retired and moved to New Mexico. While employed, I had little precious time to write. -----BBB

Tick, Tick, Tick - The Half-Hour Poet
By BumbleBeeBoogie

Here I sit before my computer,
gathering thoughts, trying to muster
words hiding in the recesses of my brain
to record my existence, but all's in vain.

They will not come before
the closing of the office door,
when the day's work is done
and before a meeting still to come.

Half-hour poems, that's what I write,
if they don't work, I'm done for the night!

Nice one. The poet and critic Edward Thomas (my favourite) was rather sniffy about this type of writing. Well, you've well and truly proved the old git wrong. Thank-you.
