@Joe Nation,
sorry senor dude.

We could use some help blowing warm moist air at the nest in Harrisburg. The stupid hawk doesnt understand that youve gotta keep the eggs warm.

@farmerman,
yeah,
As you well know, Farmer, all this crap about how 'natural' motherhood is is crap. We were out at a farm yesterday getting some topsoil and got to see a one week old goat. Her 'mom' dropped her, took one look at her and said "So, you're what's been giving me this bellyache." and walked off.
The farm mistress gave her three or four more chances to let the new little one nurse but the nanny would have none of it. (I think I married someone like that once.)

Good luck to the birds of PA.

@farmerman,
I'll have to check on the New York site. Water Street was especially hard hit during Hurrricane Sandy (42 had it's basements and first floor completely flooded.)

I'll let you know.

@farmerman,
Sandy did a LOT of damage to lower Manhattan (how about ten feet of water in the South Ferry Subway Station -the brand new part that they built twenty feet lower the old station. ) Coney Island's boardwalk, about a mile of open wooden platform, disappeared. They are replacing it now by working 24/7 .

New Jersey didn't escape either. My favorite boardwalk in Belmar, new modern indestructible fake wood......disappeared!! And the island that my sister lives on -Long Beach- was cut in two.

NESTING SEASON IS, ONCE AGAIN, OFFICIALLY ON in PA.
For those of you who are new, a nesting pair of Ospreys has been given a nesting box(rent free) 20 stories above the pavement of Harrisburg PA. The box is located in the Rachel Carson HQ building of the Pa Dept of Environmental PRotection.

There is a NEw Ywk counterpart pair of Ospreys who, for the l;ast two years, ahs been infertile. Joe Nation or Roberta will post the web cam of the NEwYawk boids whenever the web cam is turned on at the

Water Street Location.
