There are some tunes that I just can't ignore. ("The song, Elaine. The song!")
Blue Rondo A La Turk - Peppy 9/8 time gives way to laid-back 4/4 and then back to 9/8.
Yes-McCalmont and Butler.
Blue Rondo is catchy indeed.
Often the songs I can't ignore are terribly annoying.
But I will say that, no matter how often I listen to Sam Cooke at home, whenever one of his tunes randomly comes on over the radio or at a party, I start drooling. The magic is there every time. Then I'll have a Sam Cooke binge at home for maybe a week.
