What is Art? GALLERY: Arthur Dove (1880-1946) was an American seminal abstract painter whose work is an important precursor to Abstract Expressionism. His style was a great influence to Georgia O'Keeffe. If you like Georgia O'Keeffe's work, you will like Dove's, from whom she learned her craft.
