Jenny was a sweet character, she was in several episodes, but I don't remember seeing Tom and Helens son much...maybe a few times. The only thing I remember about him besides being very, very white....was when George first met him, he gave him a hard time, honkey this, honkey that....until the guy started jive talking and playing the dozens with him...."your mama is so ugly...." the audience loved it...but I remember it as being kinda dorky.
I'm sure if the show were more recent, they would have found some mixed actors to play the parts of Tom and Helens kids....Jasmine Guy comes to mind.

Yep, you're right Roxie is Lenny's mom, not Marla. I've looked that up several times, and I still get it wrong...bad trivia stuck in my head.
I'm pretty sure there is a picture in a late 80's issue of Rolling Stone that has Lenny and Marla in it, with a caption saying something about his mom visiting him during a show. And I've seen it missquoted in those "tidbit" emails I get from time to time....."did you know that your forearm is the same length as your foot"...something like that...and "Marla Gibbs is the mother of rocker Lenny Kravitz".
