Very interesting. You could also have poured or sprayed paint (a la Pollack) on the mud before shooting the camera. But it's great as is.

I really like the fern picture itself, but the background against it is just odd. It takes away from the picture, my impressiong is thats it too dark. You might want to pick a different color, but its your choice of course.

P.S.- Never seen a fern grow in a spiral! Thats really cool!
