Pssst, Boston... ready for another gathering?

Well, you've seen the tall people who came to the gathering. But then we were graced by a certain presence.

A celebrity.

It was Penny!!!

When the evening started, she was such an angel:

She read from her Bible and gave thanks for her daily bread:

Then she got into the dieting spirit (given that Thomas and mac and I were there), and had some water:

She read the rest of us the specials:

Then she had a sensible salad:

And a diet Coke:

She was a little naughty and had a little sip of beer and some butter with her bread and Coke:

She took pictures of everyone:

Oh my gosh! It was the Devil's Brew, and she became demonic!

First she mooned the camera:

Then she -- oh, it's too horrible -- I fear she needs rehab:

And then before she went home with a strange man...

... she did at least pick up the tab:

I stared at that for a while. Decided it was some kind of emergency grab bar, but it seems to be on the outside..

I think our Penny has some travel stories to tell..

<grin> Eeyep, we'd heard that Penny had had a new lease on life - something about being born again which we all thought sounded kind of impossible if not inconvenient - but, we hadn't known about the rehab until she fell off the wagon.

Speaking of wagons and transportation, the restaurant is in an old train station.
The windows facing the railroad were boarded up with the scenes of the railroad painted on the inside (I wonder if anything is painted on the outside. People eating, perhaps?).

Yep -- you knew a train was passing by every time your bench started shaking underneath you, and every time your drink started swashing around in your glass. Loved it!

One thing about born-again Penny: Once sobered up, she helped me a lot navigating home to Joisey. The momentousness of this task cannot be lost on anyone who ever tried to navigate the maze that is Greater Boston.

Thank you jes & RP & littlek & Thomas for the warm welcome to Boston. I think we'd still be there talking if the mosquitos would have left us alone!

Actually, shew, RP and I may be in Providence on Sat. or Sun. (depends on the weather). So that's a half an inch or so closer....
