Pssst, Boston... ready for another gathering?

I got a PM from Seaglass saying that she was in town, had been for a while, and would like to meet with us yokles before she heads back to Hawaii. She'll be out of town until next tuesday, but she will be around for 2-3 weeks after that. We discussed some general plans, but nothing specific. Here's what I've got:

- She suggests (strongly) that we meet at Grand Chau Chow in chinatown (sorry fishin).

- We agreed on a weekend date.

- The weekends discussed as possible were Feb 11-12 or 18-19.

The GCC restaurant has good hours. Lunch on a sunday would work as well as dinner friday or saturday. Frommers Review

Thanks for starting this thread, 'k. Seaglass is here in town with me, unable to access her own account from my 'puter for reasons so far unknown to either of us. So she might post from here under the 'Merry Andrew' logo, identifying herself. (She has pretty well taken over my computer, anyway, doing research for the book she's working on, which is one of the reasons that bring her here and tear her away from sunny Hawaii. This is why I've been absent from the forums lately.)

Personally, I heartily endorse the GCC venue. We had dinner there one night last week with some friends. You can't beat the combination of excellent food and reasonable prices. The lemon chicken is to die for. So is the shrimp on a bed of asparagus, according to Seaglass.

So, c'mon, Bostonians. Let's get a feel for how many tables we have to reserve for which date. As long as it's a weekend, Merry Andrew has no problems with either lunch or dinner.

In the meantine, we bid you a fond farewell for a couple of days, as we head out for snowy Colorado, where we'll spend a few days with Seaglas's son, d-i-l and two grandchildren. If our postings are sporadic for the next four days, that's why. We're sitting at a roaring fire in the mile-high state.

Rats. I'd like to make it, but those are not good times for me.
I'll see what can be done and post again if I can free up the time.

Oh, the lovely CL was at the last one, I just started (oops) taking pics after she'd gone. I blame the beer.

I will start photographing earlier next time. Or we can pass the camera around. Dun bother me none. Smile

Oh she was? Cool!

I just remember the one where she wanted to go but thought her boyfriend would freak if she did. Glad she's past that.

Actually, it's a German beer

In 1903, German sttelrs and technology established Tsingtao Brewery in Qinqdao - and since that time the beer is brewed according to the German 'Reinheitsgebot' ("purity law").
