Well, I didn't think we had any digital photos of our cats, but my wife says she made some up recently. So, here they are. They quality isn't great, as taken by a so-so camera.

I hope that will change soon, as I intend to buy a fancy, smancy digital camera.

Without further ado:

Kira (our female) as a kitten. She weighed something like 11 oz. when we first got her.

Oh yeah! That Kira looks like she could be littermates with my guy. Right down to that play-fight face in the last picture you posted.

Yeah, when Kory was young, he was a playful rascal and liked to play the "bratty brother". Kira was amazingly tolerant when he pestered her. When he got too much, she would simply sit on him. He would let out such a squeal! Laughing

Now, he weighs half again what she does, and he still bugs her. Now we have to scold him instead.

Shocked

wow.. here is a wierd story..

My youngest cat ( she died a few months ago) looks just like Kira.. Add about 12 lbs though.
She was , at her top weight, 21 lbs.
She has the same markings on her face that Kira has, the same white 'socks' .. >sigh<

She didnt have AS LONG of hair as Kira has.. but not much shorter..
Her name was Mira...
seperated at birth.. with similar names. Laughing

Oh, I'm sorry to hear about the diabetes. It must make it tough.

That's when Kory was a kitten. Now, the roles are reversed with him being so much bigger than her. He can tend to be a bully from time to time.

With me, it must be the voice, he is very obedient. With my wife, he doesn't listen so good. Laughing

Have you seen littlek's cat on my Reyn's" thread? Our cats look very similar.

Nice story!

My wife wanted to name Kory as Kirby, but it was my turn, as she chose the name Kira.

Kirby would have been okay, too....haha!

We stole the name idea from ...

err.....

ok, here comes my alzheimers..
The monkey movie, where Heston goes back in time supposedly.. and lands in america, and find the apes have taken over the country..

oh no.. i will be thinking about this for a long time.
I will remember the name of the movie at 2am, in my sleep.

Well, one of the main characters ( an ape) was named Zira. That is where we got the idea of Mira as a name.

He's happy, I'm happy. I just can't travel without him which limits my ventures to my perents' house.

I'll put you out of your misery. You're referring to "Planet of The Apes".

I hear ya. Kory has a heart condition. So, his life expectancy is unknown.

Aw.... my neighbor's (tuxedo cat) has a heart condition too. She's as skinny as a rail, she lives as an outdoor-indoor cat in a city, and she's nearly 20 years old.

20 years old? Wow, that kitty's done just fine then.

Kory had a heart strip done a few years back. So, he's been doing fine for now, but you know, it's always in the back of your mind.
