Methinks Amigo has injected a bit of sarcastic humor with "Ishtar" and "Howard the Duck." At least I hope so.

Greenwitch--

I hope you like it.

Curl up on a rainy afternoon with it.

(Tell me what you think afterwards.)

Amigo... after a long loooooong screening of Dr. Zhivago (197 minutes), I've started paying more attention to the actual length.

Picking from the films that people have listed and bringing in a few quirky ones of my own (with the total confession that I only know what I like):

The African Queen -- the dialog is so great Free Script Here
Aguirre, the Wrath of God -- two scenes make this film -- my introduction to real history and Klaus Kinski
A Christmas Story -- "You'll put your eye out!" Americana at its best
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly --- the music, the justice
Medicine River (which I love and nobody else gets) -- the calm & the pauses
Monsieur Ibrahim et les fleurs du Coran -- circular, fulfilling, Omar Sharif
My Fair Lady -- the music, the clothes, the story
Singing in the Rain -- Gene Kelly's dancing
The Sound of Music -- the kids, the scenery
The Tao of Steve -- the philosophy

I'd also add Amelie, PowWow Highway, Scrooged, Forrest Gump, 2001, Apollo 13, Pulp Fiction, Roxanne, Shawshank Redemption, and several other films I'd willingly watch over and over. Plus there's One the Movie, which has not yet been released. I loved One.

SheWolf... there is a very handy reference online called imdb.com... which lists nearly every film released.

Here's their page on The Good Earth (it is a heart-warming story... I've seen it a few times on the TV):

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0028944/

As soon as I win it and watch I will let you know. I've read a couple of T.H.'s novels, but not "Crowd".

On the assumption that these kinds of lists are not binding, and that I can change my opinion at any time, here are my top ten films as of this moment (in no particular order):

Dr. Strangelove
The Producers
The Third Man
Casablanca
Animal Crackers
The Shining
The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari
Citizen Kane

Maybe I will try a list of ten movies worth seeing that usually do not make it to a top ten list:
Cousin, Cousine (original French film....American remake was not good)
Eye of the Needle
We All Loved Each Other So Much (Italian film)
Start the Revolution Without Me
The Return of Martin Guerre (French film)
Pauline at the Beach (French film)
Point Break
Chariots of Fire
Eat Drink Man Woman
All the President's Men

Breaker Morant- Brilliant Aussie flick.
Godfather 1&2 - Nuff said.
Raging Bull - DeNiro is simply not human.
Anything by Kubrick, but Strangelove is my favorite ("You can't fight in the War Room!")
American Grafitti - Where were you in '62?
The Exorcist - I still can't watch this alone at night; I'm 45.
One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest - Beautiful, disturbing, hilarious.
Breakng Away - Great, great sleeper indie flick.
The Green Mile - Once in awhile a decent movie emerges from Stephen King's work.
Monty Python and the Holy Grail - Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?

These aren't necessarily the greatest films ever but I'll always stop and watch them if they're on. These are in no particular order.

Thunderbolt and Lightfoot - Bad guys ripping off bad guys. Nothing flashy but fun to watch.
The Mechanic- it reeks of when it was made and Charles Bronson has a good turn.
Father Goose- Cary Grant shows why he was a star for so long.
The Apartment- Fred MacMurray rocks, a bastard with no peer.
Die Hard- Yippe kie yaaaa...
Being There- Pete Sellars' best movie.
Citizen Kane- Do you watch this as film or as a primer on film making?
I'm going to cheat now with my San Franciso triple threat: Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, Bulllit and the first Dirty Harry movie.
Flight of the Phoenix- The original is far and away the better film if you were inflicted with the remake.

I know that's technically eleven but I couldn't help myself.

1.Interview with a vampire (I can’t watch it alone at night.. and I’ve seen it 20 times already.. at least..)
2.Gone with the wind (it’s like the best movie ever made, it’s got everything and anything in it..)
3.Dirty Dancing (come on, who wouldn’t want to look like Baby and have a guy like that ?)
4.Moulin Rouge (I started to cry in the theater.. mascara running down my face when I saw it)
5.Braveheart (it’s the best movie with Mel Gibson in it.. what can be better then that ?)
6.Forrest Gump (best movie with Tom Hanks in it.. it crack me up how he says that Elvis took the moves from him)
7.Fight Club (Brad Pitt.. no comment)
8.Lord of the Rings (the second part.. the first was way to simple and I didn’t like the third one either)
9.Always young (ooooh boo hoo)
10.Phantom of the Opera (the one from 2004 is pretty cute)
