I have been watching tapes of Mystery Science Theater 3000, all weekend.
I'd forgotten how much fun that show was!!

I used to have a friend who forced me to watch it stateside. Don't have a telly here and never watched much TV in Brazil but would watch MST3K if those chips fell into place.

Totally, totally adore it! I got hooked during the Joel Hodgson era, when watching, um, something (I think it was a Gamera film) and the scene was an Asian woman watching a Western man playing some sort of a lute. One of the 'bots (I think it was Servo) yelled out, "Play it like you mean it, Mr. Eddie's father!" I nearly aspirated beer out of my nose and hence became addicted.

Jespah, I love that episode!! Laughing

Just watched an episode called "Phantom Planet",...really cheesy 50's sci-fi,..baaad effects.

In one scene they show the profile of the rocket ship (on a string) flying through a meteor storm,...the meteors looked like breakfast cereal...the comment from one of the bots was "Honey Bunches OF DEATH!!",
I nearly lost it!! Laughing

Like Craven I was once forced to watch MST. Love the memories those old movies bring back of the Saturday matinee. However, I must admit the constant talking does interfere with the movies for me. I prefer my hokie 50s movies uninterrupted.

I know exactly where you're coming from, I had a roommie that couldn't stand it for that same reason.
For me, it brings back memories of Saturday afternoons spent watching "Creature Double-Feature" with friends, and really making fun of the bad movies while we watched!
I still do that, I love to go see bad movies with certain friends, cause we can laugh through the whole thing!
