We have
Rate of 4 pallets in £ per mile is 240/300
Rate of 1 pallet in £ per mile is (240/4)/300 = 60/300 = 1/5
Rate of 5 pallets in £ per mile is = 5 * 1/5 = 1
So 5 pallets in
180 miles for £ 180
Similarly the second one can be solved.
