A haulage company charges £240 to transport four pallets a distance of 300miles. How far would they transport five pallets for a cost of £180

Seven men can pack 2352 boxes of chocolate bars in a 4 hour shift. How long would it take five men to pack 3150 boxes of chocolate bars?

Depends on how they charge, but I'd say 180 miles.

7.5 hours

Hey I am just trying to get the first one

We have

Rate of 4 pallets in £ per mile is 240/300

Rate of 1 pallet in £ per mile is (240/4)/300 = 60/300 = 1/5

Rate of 5 pallets in £ per mile is = 5 * 1/5 = 1

So 5 pallets in 180 miles for £ 180

Similarly the second one can be solved.
