Chertoff--More Press Conferences Please: A Sarcastic Thread

Where has Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff been lately? He must be busy cleaning up that mess in New Orleans. But we can't be sure, because he hasn't been holding SIXTEEN press conferences a day. He must hate publicity and seeing himself on TV

And when he doesn't hold these press conferences, he definitely doesn't answer the same questions as he did in the previous fifteen press conferences he hasn't held.

Reporters never ask: Why wasn't the response quicker? And I never get tired of hearing them not ask it.

Neither Chertoff, nor anyone else associated with the rescue effort has had a microchip installed in their brainstems, so that when this question doens't arise, they don't answer "Now is not the time to stand back and criticize. Right now we are focused on saving lives."

That's quite profound, and totally non-evasive.
