I am alright Letty, thank you for asking. I have no idea regarding Spendius, but I rather think he will be safe in some pub in Yorkshire, drinking cheap cider, will find out soon, he will have been on other threads, I reckon. Sorry, 'Steve's thread?'
Dastardly business in The City though, my thoughts are with those injured, and the families and loved ones of those injured and murdered.
Luscious Lips Letty, isn't it grand, just being here?
By and large we go through life evading death by various means and the beauty of existence takes time to be a solid realisation. I was looking at the heads of three baby great tits earlier today, peering at me from their nest, which was well secured on an under beam of one of my outbuildings. Ralph, was looking at them too. He is a gentle old giant, (excluding poachers) and appears to enjoy life with a speciality. After making Ralphs afternoon snack up, I had some weed spray to put down in various places. I stopped using it after about five minutes, and used my hands and a spade to remove them. It simply occurred to me, the chemicals were probably poisoning much blood life. No matter how insignificant we may think a grub, worm, beetle may be. We have no right to indiscriminately kill.
Am I going silly, I did bare knuckle fighting years ago?
What a lovely benchmark, Mathos. (this will not hijack Noddy's thread)
Yes, it is grand to be alive. Your entire anecdote reminds me of The Rime of the Ancient Mariner.
"...farewell, farewell, but this I tell to thee, thou wedding guest.
He prayeth best who loveth best both man and bird and beast.
He prayeth best who loveth best all things both great and small,
For the dear God who madeth us, he made and loveth all..."
Once you were married and had a good life,
You had enough money to last you for life.
You met with a girl and you went on a spree,
She taught you to smoke and drink whusky!
And, that, Noddy, accounts for Mathos' taste for Bob Dylan.
