I should have noted that intolerance does not necessarily have to mean rudeness.
Not abiding foolishness doesn't have to mean being rude to the fool.
Nevertheless, "intolerance" as an ambiguous concept is not always a bad thing. And that's the only point I had wanted to make.
Most of us are intolerant of, for instance, slavery....or a belief that the world is flat, and the sun revolves around the earth...
