Damn! I thought Goodyear might have invented the Hills Hoist for Tubeless Tires but I can't find confirmation.

According to this Hills Hoist was invented by an Aussie called Lance Hill in 1945 http://inventors.about.com/library/bl/bl12_1_h.htm
