Do you think posting that link was a good idea, Chris? It's going to upset quite a few people here.

I figure this board is mature enough to understand that some people will find it humorous, others not. It's like tv, it's okay that it exists, as long as the people who wants to tune in, can, and whoever doesn't, can turn the channel.

Someone sent me the site, I figure I pass it along to you guys. I'm just the messenger, you know, like abc, cbs, nbc, etc etc. Just another channel on the tv set.

Personally, I think that the site IS gross, but for many, may be a tensional outlet. For months now, everywhere you turned, you were faced with the picture of that empty, shell, looking at nothing.

After awhile, I found that after having that picture being foisted on me so many times on TV, and in the newspapers, I reacted to it with hostility, rather than compassion. It made me realize the disgusting political game that was being played out in the media, with Terri's unfeeling, unthinking body as its figurehead.

OK, then! Maybe I was being a wee bit touchy about (my perception of) other peoples' sensitivities?..... Caused by reading all those endless debates here. Just didn't want anyone to be deeply offended.Very Happy

Not deeply offended, but I do find it in poor taste. She was a person, and at the point in her life being made fun of, was not in control of how her image was used. That was equally unsettling.

I am now changing channels.

msolga- Seeing that picture of Terri, over and over, ad nauseum, deeply offended me. I would bet that a lot of other people had the same perception.

I can understand that, Phoenix. I felt the same way, though obviously I didn't see that image nearly as much as people in the US did. I totally agree with squinney's comment.

msolga- I agree that showing her picture over and over again was in abominable taste.

One of the things that really disturbed me was the video clip of Terri's mother kissing her. I am convinced that there was one of two things going on. Either her mother was in total denial of the ramifications of her daughter's condition, or she was part of the effort to make political hay at the expense of Terri. Either way, I think that Mrs. Schindler is either to be pitied, or reviled. We will probably never really know the truth.

Yesterday, Florida determined that all of the allegations of abuse against Terri by her husband had no merit. In fact, it was noted, that many of the motions were exact copies of earlier ones.

I can see this as a popular dance. The music plays and plays some rocky think , then it sudenly stopes and everyone does the "Shiavogue" . Would that be in bettter taste?
