What is the best degree for freelance

Hello

I need someone to tell me, if there ia a particular career field that lends itself to freelance work, or for what I can do on my laptop?

I'm currently taking a course in business (BSBA) on-line, that I find dry, and probably won't help me, at my age, and circumstance, secure employment, especially freelance work. I think it would be ideal, and so much easier, if I enjoyed the learning experience. It would be even better if the course was a demanding field that would translate to freelance work! programing, Web dev, copywriting, or CAD/CAM...

By the way, Im 51 semi-retired and because of a recent operation, I really need to find work at home, on a longterm basis!

I'm into creative or technical writing write now, but need a better background just incase I'm not as good a writer, as I think! I would appreciate any responces.
