Tonight we're having Ribeye Steak a la Plancha, Twice baked cheese potatoes, caesar salad or Tabouleh salad and perhaps asparagus wrapped in bacon.....

On the iron is a straight translation. In Spain it's anything cooked on a griddle

Nuked some frozen mussels in garlic butter sauce and poured it over some pasta. Quick and easy, with toasted garlic bagels.

Mexican hamburger soup: an oldie but goodie from the 'Too Busy to Cook' section of Bon Apetite, December 1983. Yum!

FreeDuck I like Cranberries in my salad too, with Pecans and
some Gorgonzola cheese.

Tonight we had chicken with leek, carrots, and Zucchini.

Of grain..... I am adding little low-fat spinach and soy cheese poppers. Ooooh boy, this is not a good food day for me.

Free Duck , my vinaigrette dressing. Is yours similar?

1/2 cup olive oil

3 garlic cloves-crushed
1 tsp. dijon mustard
1/2 tsp. sugar
salt and pepper and a squeeze of lemon juice

Mine is pretty darn close to that. I don't put mustard or sugar, but I add crushed garlic cloves (or minced garlic if I'm feeling lazy) and salt and pepper. It's about half vinegar half oil. Deeelish.

This snowy and cold weather puts me in the mood to cook. Yesterday I made meatloaf, mashed potatoes and brocolli and cheese. I love to cook (and eat) comfort foods in this wintery weather. Today I'll be making a big pot of chilli with pan fried corn cakes. Yum! With some a nice wine from the Boordy Vineyards here in MD to wash it down.
