Osso--

My mother had a number of admirable characteristics--she just tended to be a wee bit traditional and strong minded.

She was a great reader and culler of information from all sorts of books. On a bad pain day when she was dying she suggested the Home Health Aid that instead of the full bed bath, she have a whore's bath--face, hands, armpits and crotch.

She'd been reading Sue Grafton.

You still see horse tethering rings in the sidewalks of Baltimore, as well as stables behind rowhouses.

In the '50s, we wore ankle length, full skirts. Underneath, we wore crinolines. The crinolines were made of stiff nylon, and made you look like you were swaying back and forth, something like a bobblehead, but on the bottom half!
