With MSN pics click and drag down and away to get the full url as it is very long.

This is what the url to that pic should look like (I'm cutting it up to avoid horizontal scrolling).

It's usually about 3 lines long on the properties box and that box uaually only displays two lines. If you click and drag it will get the whole thing.

It's watercolor. I was an art major back in the day.

I only have 1 painting that looks good (my first) but haven't gotten the techniques down (my grand total is about 5 painting).

I haven't painted in 2 years though. Painting is an activity that takes too much time in one shot. With drawing etc I can draw for five minutes and stop (I drew the self portrait while waiting for a bus).

Do you still paint?

you guys are makin' me dizzy - one of you leans slightly right and the other slightly left!

Great work, sozobe. I wouldn't have guessed watercolours - seems so rich!

Laughing I hadn't noticed until you said so, but when we have a back-and-forth it's hilarious. I kinda picked my avatar as a place-holder while I looked for something better -- went great with "just hatched", OK with "newbie", but now I think it's time to move on...

As for the painting, it was many many many layers of watercolors to get that kind of depth. Took forever.

I don't paint anymore, no, for the same reasons. I used to pull all-nighters, off in a zone -- lierally shocked to see the sun come up. That was great. Not too compatible with motherhood (at least when the sozlet is this little.)

just be sure to pick something on an angle

it really adds to the effect of actually following a conversation - left right left right left right left left right

it is really a wonderful piece of work - how large is the original?

Thanks for the compliments. Embarrassed The original is about 18" square, I think. That's a guess, though. It came to mind because of Craven's comments about adding touches that "ruined" a painting -- I couldn't look at this one for about 2 years because of various things that I did to it, after a really promising beginning. I'm much more interested in faces than anything else, and I had a really good face with white around it, and decided I wanted to finish it, and then I had to match the colors, and then... now that I have some distance, I'm OK with it.
