Getting Phpbb ready for public consumption

I just installed a new phpbb golf forum.

What steps should I follow next to get the board SEOed (search engine optimized) and ready for public consumption.

Are there any SEO hacks you could recommend or a step by step guide on optimizing the forum and the database?

I know there is a able2know mod but does that work with version 2.0.11?

I was referring to taking preventive steps for a database which will grow to be of considerable size. Should anything be done to the database from the get-go?

Can a database be optimized after a forum has been in service?

Craven could you pm me I wanted to let you know of an issue I experienced on these boards.

What do you mean when you talk of "optimizing" the database?

I was guessing that there would be ways to optimize a database for speed and performance? I was just asking the question.

There are very many things that fall under the loose term of "optimization" ranging from routine database maintenance to complete restructuting of sql queries or database structure.

The latter does not fall under copy/paste solutions like modifications and hacks do, so if you don't know what you are doing yet need them I recommend finding an experienced database administrator and someone who is familiar with php.
