I'm partial to Boddington's. Lighter than Guiness and creamier than Bass Ale. Sam Adams is what I order at a restaurant, if they have it.

Smithwick's is my new favorite. Lovely stuff.
But I am fickle and by next month, I'll have found a new love.

Tico - I don't know what the difference is in the n-minute IPAs. I guess they are big out here, but IPAs come from a large number of breweries around the country. Sierra Nevada makes one, Stone makes one, rogue prolly makes one too......

I love Guinness. Or Murphy's Stout when I can find it.

Boddington's sounds interesting, panzade. I'll look for it.

Michelob is my beer of choice, but really, I like any beer that looks like piss.

And I hate all this microbrewery, IPA swill, just on principle. When did beer become so pretentious?

Those piss-looking beers tend to taste like piss, too, but each to his own taste!

I like the IPAs, myself. Re the Dogfish Head nomenclature (90-minute, 120-minute): A usually reliable source tells me that the brewer claims to "dry hop" (throw in extra hops at the end of the process) for that number of minutes for each batch. Great stuff!

I'd rant a lot, but I figure that most of the beers I would drink are unavailable in Nth America. But, it's never TOO late to help the afflicted.....

I will consume copious amounts of this:

without reservation.

Brewer tasting notes:
A blend of pale, crystal and carapils malts produces a distinctive coppery colour, rich malt sweetness and persistent creamy head. The flavour is very ale-like with a lingering slightly nutty finish. Willamette hops are added late in the kettle boil for a refreshing citrus (almost grapefruit) hop character.

Coopers Sparkling Ale

The ale by which all others should be measured. With its famous cloudy sediment and its distinctive balance of malt, hops and fruity characters, the old 'Red Label' is a tasty slice of Coopers history.

Little has changed since Thomas Cooper produced his first batch of Coopers Sparkling Ale in 1862. It's still brewed naturally using the century old top fermentation method and it still tastes great!

Sparkling Ale contains no additives or preservatives.

5.8% Alc/Vol

Original and best!!
