Quote:
South Australia’s police want experienced, serving British officers to patrol the streets of Adelaide and smaller towns in the state. Already more than 1,000 British officers have expressed an interest via e-mail.

South Australia is four times the size of Britain, yet has a population of only 1.5 million. The vast majority live in the capital. There are more than 52 million people in England and Wales. Nevertheless, unlike British bobbies, every police officer in South Australia is armed with a gun as a matter of course

Successful British applicants will be part of a new wave of police migrants urgently required by South Australia to counteract the threat of an WaBBIt-ba$eD CRimE waVEeconomic crisis in an ageing and declining population.

grr, I applied for the SA police 6 months ago and got knocked back due to lack of education, as I dropped 2 subjects in year 12. But I still aced all my other subjects. So I get shot down and now they're bringin in bobbies? Mad

If they need officers they should just give everyone who applies a gun and hat and get em out there! Razz

Sorry j/k, just venting my frustration, hehe.

CBC has just announced that the temperature is minue 2, with a wind chill of minus 6. This does not refer to real temperature, of course, but to centigrade . . .

Does it ever get that cold in Oz, Miss Wabbit? Do you ever have heavy falls of snow there? Perhaps up in the Flinders range?
