@edgarblythe,
That remind me of the bride who wanted the song from Robin Hood played at her wedding, meaning Everything I do, I do it for you, by Bryan Adams. Instead she got this.

Side fact about the Robin Hood TV show, it was made up of a lot of Hollywood blacklisters. ITV knew when they were onto a good thing.

Izz with a y. Welcome back. Didn't know that one by Nigel. Thanks again for the introduction, buddy. It was great.

edgar, Ah, dear Walt. Love that one, too.

What a shock to find out about The BeeGees, y'all.

Barry is the only Bee Gees brother that is still living. Robin passed away on May 20, 2012 and Maurice passed away in 2003.

Today is Barry's birthday

Oops, I missed the pullman's Robin Hood contribute. Know that one, buddy.

edgar. Loved George Strait doing that one.

Going to say good evening now with two songts.

First, Shakespeare:

Now some info on that one, y'all.

Shakespeare had a big vision of love. It's not just physical, spiritual, or intellectual – it's all of the above. In Love's Labour's Lost, love is the great synthesizer of humanity. Most of the characters want to be one thing: a warrior, a scholar, a teacher. They think they can only do these jobs well if they cut out the rest of life (and especially love). They discover, however, that love enhances everything else. For the main characters, physical attraction sparks a journey of towards becoming complete human beings. The journey doesn't end with the play's resolution. By writing an ambiguous ending, Shakespeare seems to suggest that the journey continues.

I read one time that Conway Twitty had more number one country songs than any other artist. He is the first artist I saw in concert. Here is another of his songs

Well fan me with a blowtorch! Me too, though there were three or four others performing at the same concert. It was called The Shine of Stars. As I recall, part of the cost of admission was turning in a stolen label from some kind of shoe shine stuff in a spray can. Conway sneered right at me, by the way.

I also saw him in Tulsa many years later at the end of a promotion for Conway Twitty Mobil Homes.

@roger,
Twitty's concert was supposed to be the event of the year, in Corpus Christi. Only four hundred of us showed up. Everybody else was in the town of Alice, where Jerry Lee Lewis was working. And this after Lewis got in trouble for marrying his cousin.

Good late morning feom our Florida radio station.

edgar, love all of your songs, but what a surprise to listen to Working Class Hero by John Lennon.

neko, Duane doing The Ballad of Paladin was great.

Nice to see my friend Roger here.

Today is this guy's birthday, but first a memory jog.

Reeves began his acting career at the age of nine, appearing in a theatre production of Damn Yankees. At 15, he played Mercutio in a stage production of Romeo and Juliet at the Leah Posluns Theatre. Reeves made his screen acting debut in a CBC Television comedy series entitled Hangin' In. In the early 1980s, he appeared in commercials (including one for Coca-Cola), short films including the NFB drama One Step Away[18] and stage work such as Brad Fraser's cult hit Wolfboy in Toronto. In 1984, he was a correspondent for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation TV youth program Going Great.

Now, the tribute:

Once again calling all musicians, painters, poets, music lovers, and chatters.

Made a mistake, y'all. Sally Ride was the first woman in space. Here is the first teacher in space.

You've made another one. Valentina Tereshkova was the first woman in space.

On an entirely unrelated subject I heard this phrase today and it made me think of this song.

I guess I should have said the first American woman in space, Izz with a y. Don't know that song you just played, but it was a goodie, and thanks for the introduction.

Anyone remember Billy Preston? Today is his birthday.
