As a kid, Cattle Call is one of the very first records I recognized by their repetition on the radio. Eddie Arnold, in the 1950s, was called by some the Frank Sinatra of country music.

Love Anytime, edgar

Imur, What a wonderful surprise to find that Don did that one. Castles in Air is great.

Osso/Jo. Thanks for the news about our Frenchman. Hope he returns soon.

Hope that I didn't miss commenting on anyone here. As you know, I love my friends being here.

I know that we have played all the music before, but it is so great, that it doesn't matter.

Well, my daughter is fixing supper, so I'm saying goodnight with Perry. W've
done this one before as well, but I think all of us here love the man.

From Letty with love to all of you here.

Good morning from our Florida radio station.

edgar, Loved that one by The Clancy Brothers. Had no idea that it was a cover of "the jester". Wonder where euroGeorge is?

Latin George, it's always good to see you here. Love that one by Caroline Loeb and Jaques was a great version ofTo Dream the Impossible Dream.

tsap, Not certain what that meant but it's always nice to have you with us, too.

Sorry if I missed anyone.

Today is "the count's" birthday and here is a tribute to him along with Oscar.

Odd, but Caroline Loeb reminded me of this one:

Nathan Freudenthal Leopold, Jr. (November 19, 1904 – August 29, 1971)[1] and Richard Albert Loeb (June 11, 1905 – January 28, 1936), more commonly known as "Leopold and Loeb", were two wealthy University of Chicago students who kidnapped and murdered 14-year-old Robert "Bobby" Franks in 1924 in Chicago".

Guess who did that horrible situation on TV?

Alfred, and here is his theme song.

@edgarblythe,
Hurry back, edgar. Didn't know I Feel So Bad by the king.

Here's our poem for the day:

"I Meant To Do My Work Today"

by Richard LeGallienne

I meant to do my work today,
But a brown bird sang in the apple tree,
And a butterfly flitted across the field,
And all the leaves were calling me.
And the wind went sighing over the land,
Tossing the grasses to and fro,
And a rainbow held out its shining hand,
So what could I do but laugh and go?

Now, y'all, set to music.

When I was growing up in the '50s (and '40s) I was exposed to American culture like this:

A former Prime Minister of our country died today. Albert Reynolds made an enormous contribution to bringing peace to the North of Ireland and brought all parties to the negotiating table after decades of conflict. As a tribute, here's a song by Irish singer-songwriter, Paul Brady - The Island.

I wanna take you to The Island
Trace your footprints in the sands
And in the evening when the sun goes down
We'll make love to the sound of the ocean.
