@edgarblythe,
I used to watch TV as kid around 1956-1957 and vaguely recall a 15-minute show starring Les Paul and Mary Ford. I think I was about 5 or 6 mebbe:

@Ragman,
I don't like a lot of Les and Mary recordings, but some I do.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for the comment, edgar. I think that Les and Mary had a rather nasty breakup later, so maybe this would have been a better Johnny.

Enjoyed Apache by Duane.

@edgarblythe,
I know what you mean about some of their work. Too much schmaltz...not enough feeling. Another way of phrasing it ..is ... too commercial. He certainly was as good a guitarist as you are going to get - from any decade..

Old story I may have told here before - Les Paul made a recording that ended with the shave and a haircut sound, but left off the last two beats. When DJs complained, because they had dead air space, waiting for the end, he made a recording of just the two beats and sent them to DJs.

Johnny B Goode is a good one. I played Johnny is The Boy For Me, because I happened to remember hearing it on the radio, just one time, when I was a kid. Today was the second or third time I heard it.

I read that the only reason Jerry Lee Lewis made this record was to keep his mother from listening to the Chuck Berry version so often.

@edgarblythe,
Funny, edgar. didn't know that one by Jerry Lee, but I love the background on music.

Wikipedia:
Chaplin's compositions produced three popular songs. "Smile", composed originally for Modern Times (1936) and later set to lyrics by John Turner and Geoffrey Parsons, was a hit for Nat King Cole in 1954.[398] For Limelight, Chaplin composed "Terry's Theme", which was popularised by Jimmy Young as "Eternally" (1952).[400] Finally, "This Is My Song", performed by Petula Clark for A Countess from Hong Kong (1967), reached number one on the UK and other European charts.[401] Chaplin also received his only competitive Oscar for his composition work, as the Limelight theme won an Academy Award for Best Original Score in 1973 following the film's re-release.

@edgarblythe,
I know a much slower versions of Hi Lili, edgar. I like the Everly Brothers, however.
There were three or four remakes of Charlie Chaplin, too. Thanks for the background.

Your Lili reminded me of Sidney.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, edgar, That one by John is very tender. How dear, that child.

More synchronicity, because some time ago, I sent my Beth a precious photo of her when she was a baby, and added the lyrics to it. Here's Deano singing it now.

@George,
Welcome back, Latin George, love all of your songs. Going to say Goodnight with a reminder, and a great jazz version of How High the Moon.

The reminder, buddy.
