I've noticed that both my forsythia bushes and my pussy willow tree still have leaves in the last third of November.

Of course, come spring, both plantings will blossom and then green up early--that's why I planted them.

I'm reminded that in humans a woman who starts her menses early will have a late menopause and a late-blooming woman will cease menstrating early.

Can anyone come up with other parallels?

Ah, I missed this thread the first time around, and found it while randomly tagging pet and garden threads.

I think nature's parallels to be a worthy subject to resurrect...
the thread one more fine memory of Noddy.
