pick the judge to measure my sobriety against).

Quote:
Supreme Court judge Jeff Shaw will spend the next six weeks undergoing intensive treatment at an eastern suburbs clinic which specialises in alcohol-related illnesses.

He has volunteered to undertake a program of detoxification which has achieved highly acclaimed results among professional people including lawyers, accountants, dentists, journalists and television personalities.

Justice Shaw, 55, the state's former attorney-general, is likely to remain an outpatient for up to six months as he regains his physical strength following his near-collapse a week ago.

Big, big stink in NSW at present. The judge's little 'problem' seems to have been a well-known secret and some-one managed to 'lose' a blood sample (first ever apparently) AND from a locked container in a police-car (!?!).

The judiciary joined ranks against her to protect its own, of course! But - His Honour retired shortly after...

I think that it is an absolute disgrace that a judge should lose his license over that. I mean, have some compassion. How is the poor guy going to get to his daily bondage and S&M sessions now?
