Isn't that tough to uphold when their mother is not attending?

I am a religion-free zone.

But I like some hymns, choral and organ music, and gospel.

Actually, it hasn't been. They haven't really fought me on it at all. My daughter continued to go with us up until she left for college. I doubt she has darked the door of the chapel very often since then, but that's her choice.

I go to church regular. Do I get a star for attendance?

church regular....is there a church lite? or a church premium?

Smile Sometimes I guess I shouldn't use the spell check. At least I got it close it enough to check though; most of the time it's way off.

Every Sunday morning, and sometimes weeknights.

I go regularly; a few moments of peace never did anyone no harm. But I try to keep my computer at work.

Weddings and baptisms. I'd add funerals, but I stopped going to those.

I used to go and also sing in the choir as well as teaching Religious Education during the week. That was a three-days a week or more commitment. Took the kids all the way through to the point of confirmation... they didn't want to be confirmed and in our church, that's their right.

But I was uncomfortable listening to talk about how great it would be if everyone believed as "we" do and how wonderful if the government was church-based. A few more comments about how we needed to work to make everyone understand and believe the tenets of the church and I was out the door. That was several years ago and frankly, they scared me with that talk. I considered it un-American. Who knew?

Now, I go only if necessary for some event, if visiting religious family members or when I'm near a great cathedral on Sunday. I agree with McTag... there's nothing like a well-sung hymn.

American churches are quite interesting Smile

Monday night they have a divorce recovering group
Tuesday night is single night (left over from Monday)
Wednesday night: marriage counseling
Thursday night: AA meetings
Friday evening: mass with get together afterwards
Saturday/Sunday: mass 4 x a day with coffee and donuts
afterwards.

Me? I'm just such a good person, I know my window seat
in heaven is already reserved for me. Why bather going
to church?

Thought so too!

I was practically raised in our church!

I miss church. We have gone to a few around here, but haven't joined. Once we move to the suburbs, I'm sure we'll find a good solid church to attend.

I think that churches can be a great assistance in rearing your kids. Some of them have phenominal youth programs.

If church means sleeping in until 1 in the afternoon, then count me in!
