I picked NE to take it all, but my heart is with Pittsburgh.

Ah yes, that's exactly my situation except the other way. Man the Patriots are a juggernaut this year.

@Kolyo,
The final teams deserve it, as well as they played. I was most surprised that Green Bay caved so badly.

@edgarblythe,
How many pickers here correctly foresaw a Patriots-Falcon Superbowl matchup?

If NE wins, then it comes down to the tie breaker between Rhys and Pistorius. If Atlanta wins then Lightning22 takes the title.
Good luck you guys!

@George,

I just found the rules from last year's game when I found them from the year before that when ehBeth posted them from the year before when
realjohnboy adapted them from the year before that. That's clear, right?

Your objective in this game is to successfully pick the Super Bowl winner.
If you can do that, you win.
But most of us won't be able to do that. Deep sighs.
Not to worry! There is more to this game!

You collect points along the way for correct picks.

You may not get the Super Bowl champion but you can end up with MORE
CUMULATIVE POINTS than most other players.

Here is how it works:

- You get 1 point for each correct pick in the 4 Wild Card games...

- Plus you get 4 points if you get all 4 games right.

Then, you get 2 points for each game you get right in the first round of
the playoffs...

and 4 points for predicting the winners in next round

and 8 points for correctly choosing the Super Bowl champion.

I tried this formula out last season. As the huckster-in-chief, my objective
was/is to keep folks interested. I have only one minor adjustment this time.

After reviewing the standings and looking over my Super Bowl pick, I have determined that my chance of winning it all is somewhere south of no way in hell.

Good luck to those still with a chance to win this weekend.

And in other news, my Super Bowl boxes are
Falcons 8, Patriots 7
Falcons 1, Patriots 8

Not thrilled.

@realjohnboy,
I'm thinkin' George bought into a pool that pays off according to the last digit in the teams' final score.
