If I could not find enough/adequate examples for a certain pattern of morphological process in books, can I provide examples that fit a certain pattern that I know from experience (i.e. examples that are not taken from literature, but they are widely known)?
Academic writing requires evidence.

You can do as you like - Academia will judge you on whether you regurgitate it their way (Strictly limited) or your way (potentially progressive). Your way will deny you a pointless piece of paper.
