Currents in range of 9 amperes found flowing in 2mva transformer in the transformer body earthing. Is it normal? transformer is DY11, neutral solidly grounded?

@stanleypk,
Stan, if what you say about DY11 is right, then no. I'd guess there's a short between hot of end of winding and its core

....unless DY11 is some kind of queer transformer with four wires....

However, I don't understand "neutral solidly grounded"

Edited to note that the q would be confounded if the winding had a tap

Eng, Con, Oss, etc, help

This is probably a step up transformer. In IEC "vector group" terminology the letters go HV-LV so a DY transformer has a Delta HV winding and a Y ("Wye") LV winding. The number or numbers indicate multiples of 30 degree lead or lag for low voltage winding using the high voltage winding as the reference. The numbers are taken from the 12 hour markings on a clock face. 1 = 30°, 2 = 60°, 3 = 90°, 6 = 180°(lead) and 7 to 11 indicate lag and 12 = 0° or 360°. Thus 11 means 30 degrees lag (think of 11 o'clock on a clock face where 12 o'clock is the HV winding). If the secondary (HV) neutral is brought out to a separate terminal (yes, a 4th wire) you add an N thus DY11N.

Advice to OP: Consult boss. Consult transformer manual. Consult transformer manufacturer. Consider safety implications of distribution engineers using web forums to determine correct functioning of HV installations. Check grounding system design and correct installation.

@contrex,
Wow thanks Con

Stan, my response arises from a sense of ignorance and laziness so do hear Con above
