De Niro played the monster in Kenneth Branaugh's rather overblown version "Mary Shelley's Frankenstein." Link:

De Niro turned in a convincing performance but Branaugh was barely this side of being canned by Oscar Mayer. The movie seemed put together in the same fashion as the monster.

Back to "Angels in America," I doubt that they could have presented the filmed miniseries intact on any network. HBO to the rescue -- they also picked up the EMMY for best movie, "What the Lord Made."
