I want to know the grammatical use of 'as' and 'since'.when we use 'as' and when we use 'since'?
It looks like you are considering conjunctions that connect the result of something with its reason. You could have mentioned 'because'. As, because and since are conjunctions that introduce subordinate clauses. As and since are interchangeable. As is more common in British English.
Because is more common than as and since, both in writing and speaking. When we use because, we are focusing on the reason. We often use as and since when we want to focus more on the result than the reason. As and since are more formal than because.
@contrex,
I think there must be a simple difference between 'As' and 'since'.If you know,let me know.
