Researching an IMDb poll suggestion for unusual chairs in films (nonthrones).
Have a seat!

So is this a couch?

If I find too many options for my suggestion, I'll change the poll to include superniche of dining chairs.

Looks like a bench to me..

To me it looks like a bench in an airport. A seat with space for handluggage.
First class with red opholstry, ekonomy class just plain white plastic.

It's a bench. But I guess I didn't know that there was a distinction between couch and bench. Can it be said that benches are public couches? Just belaboring the point. Wink

Me, I think of couches as having quite a fair amount of comfortable "stuffing" to sit on and lean back against, whether or not they have armrests. So, no, I wouldn't call the bench in the photo a couch.

I was going to say to boomer how amazing it is one can identify a film by even just a portion of a still.

I had to scroll to see it, and as soon as I got past the first step below the upper couch, I knew where it was from. Evenbefore I saw the woman in her what looks like a sensory deprevation chamber.

A bench is made of wood or plastic and you can have one in your garden or it can be a public park.
There are also benches for indoors.
This one is from South End on Sea and like it.

Benches are often made of concrete too. Occasionally they are made out of stone.

Yes. Screencaptured from the IMDb image gallery (where ultimately the only images I can use for the poll ... though it looks like it's gotten easier now to download images from offsite to their respective image gallery).
