Should This all be changed to All this?

Mon 1 Aug, 2016 09:24 am
This all changed after my mother shared details about her miscarriages with a believer. This believer subsequently encouraged her to receive guidance from the Chief Priest.

Should This all be changed to All this?

Thanks.

@tanguatlay,
No. It is well-written the way it is.

"This all changed" and "all this changed" are both correct. Your original sentence didn't "need" changing, but you can change it if you want with no alteration of meaning.

@contrex,
However Con there's a subtle difference in meaning depending on context. The first might somehow imply a single object

Depending on context, some users might use "all this" differently from "this all", but many (perhaps most) probably use them interchangeably.

@tanguatlay,
Ignore Select My Tutor and Dalehileman, neither of them know what they're talking about.

@izzythepush,

what they're talking about
Oh I dunno Izzy. If we were discussing a troublesome gadget to which a number of improvements had been made, we'd be a tad more likely to day "This all"

How applied to the miscarriage I'm not sure

@tanguatlay,
It was fine to begin with.

You could change it if you wanted to - but if the author prefers This all ... leave it alone.
