Do you prefer leather jackets in Winters?

I live in Cold Place so I need to know is the leather Jackets are comfortable in winters.

The exterior doesn't matter. You care about what's in the lining. And so by 'Cold Place' do you mean Cold Spring Harbor, Long Island? Cold Mountain, Georgia? Something else? Be more specific and you'll get more specific answers - jackets and coats are rated to certain cold temperatures.

I once owned a leather jacket, a pretty expensive one. What counts is not what's on the outside to keep one warm. I learned the hard way; don't waste your money.

Mine was pretty light. I think it was calf skin. I gave it to charity.
Another thing I think worth mentioning. You can get very good quality leather jackets in South America for fraction of the cost. I bought one for my son.

A leather jacket in a cold winter - I can think of something better to keep me warm.

If it has a good lining it will keep you warm and the leather will shed water (unless it's REALLY raining). Leather takes some maintenance though.

They wouldn't have much effect in a really good winter here. They'd probably look all right but not much help when it gets to -30 or -40 celsius.

No - leather is thermally-conductive, like rubber.
