Sit-In on the floor of the House of Representatives

The Democrats have stayed on the floor trying to force a vote. MSNBC reports that the Republican are planning on re-entering the House to attempt to call it off. Do you think we might see a fist fight tonight or just some pushing, shoving and name calling.

I have always admired John Lewis. I think the gun lobby has too much money to bribe congress for any meaningful gun laws to be produced.

@edgarblythe,
I also like John Lewis, I doubt much of anything will be accomplished by this sit-in, but it appeals to me. If only because they are actually trying to get the House to do it's freaking job.

@glitterbag,
Gridlock is not going to change with this congress.
Here's a whole slew of articles on our broken congress. They're a bunch of children with their playground antics while our country suffers.

@cicerone imposter,
I know, and I also know its pointless but I'm a tad cheered that at least it was protested.

Americans are uninformed, and continue to reelect republicans that threatens all of our economy. When does gridlock help this country? Any one?

@ehBeth,
I know! I would have thought I'd be kinda jaded and immune to any John Lewis oratory - I'd heard it all, kind of thing. But he gave me a couple of chills too.

In sit-ins isn't the army or police called in to shoot the protesters or don't you do that any more?

@Miss L Toad,
We've backed of a bit on shooting protesters. Would you settle for pepper spray in the halls of congress.

PS: I knew I could count on you.

@roger,
I can see why people across the political spectrum would settle for legislative and cultural change.

Really? All they are doing is throwing a tantrum because they didn't get their way.

And what they wanted to do is gravely violate the civil rights of innocent Americans. Are you proud of the 9/11 hijackers too?
