For those that say to never forgive your parents

Remember that your parents were also children when they joined. They did not have the emotional ability to save you or themselves. If they did, they would never have joined to start with. Please refer to science and do not give me preachy quotes written by a bunch of old misogynistic old men called the bible That kind of thinking is what got us into this mess to start with.

Tes, I don't think you understand the context.

The Family was an extreme religious group, and some people who have left this group come here to talk to each other and get support. The question, as I understand it, is whether someone who blames their parents for dragging them into this damaging religion should forgive them.
