@tsarstepan,
I had to look this up since I couldn't remember the name of the movie - could have told you all about it, but not the name Rolling Eyes

I'd pick Diane Arbus from this list

and if you also included documentaries, Vivian Maier would be my choice to follow

Oh God yes, Vivian Maier for sure.

From the original list, I'd pick Joker from Full Metal Jacket.

I just realized something. She's a real photographer. I forgot that I'm only looking for fictional characters.

@tsarstepan,
yeah - she was real, but the movie was fiction

that's why it's called An Imaginary Portrait

kind of like Zelig in reverse

@tsarstepan,
is Pecker on your list?

it's on the non-documentary list at the first link - it was truly odd. trying to decide if anyone would follow

I'd like to see the Billy Connolly movie that's on that list. Sounds interesting.

@tsarstepan,
Can I pick Thomas from "Blow Up"?

I haven't seen a lot of the movies on the list but wasn't Danny Devito kind of based on Weegee? I love Weegee so I'd follow Sid all day long.

When I think about film photographers, Blow Up is always my first thought.

@edgarblythe,
I liked Under Fire, at least at the time.
I might follow the Dennis Hopper character (Apocalypse Now).
I saw Blow Up, but don't remember the plot.. on reading the summary, I might follow Hemmings for a bit.
In Robert Frank's Footsteps interests me..
I remember the excitement about finding Vivian Maier's photos, would reread about that.
Sebastiano Salgado is a favorite, especially his goldmine photography, so I'd like to see his brother Julanio's movie.
Mildly interested in Elegant Nude re Edward Weston and Charis Wilson
Very interested in the documentary on Julian Shulman - famous guy in Los Angeles architectural history at the time I was learning about all that.

Not on any lists - a movie a friend of ours made, Running Scared, 1980
Paul Glickler, director and story

(There are other movies with that title, but this is the one I liked)

I would follow Dennis Hopper's character.

Have you thought of Mark Lewis from Peeping Tom? Not that I'd follow him mind, I'm not a bloody pervert.
